CHUMC CHILDREN'S CENTER

The California Heights United Methodist Children's Center (CHUMCC) was founded in 1972 by a group of parents from the California Heights United Methodist Church who were concerned about the developmental and educational needs of their children. The basis of the CHUMCC program is that all children are unique individuals, created and loved by God.

Mission Statement:

The mission of CHUMCC is to support and promote the Center’s commitment to the children’s success by providing access to vital, comprehensive and quality education programs and services which reflect and address the needs of all the children. To fulfill our mission, the teaching staff of CHUMCC is dedicated to:

• Providing essential support that assists children in accomplishing their educational goals.
• Enriching the lives of children and families by providing quality care and education that:
  • Enhances the child’s growth and development
  • Maintains a safe and positive environment that promotes critical and independent thinking, creativity, and respectful relationships.
• Strengthening parenting skills through modeling, parent involvement, and parent education.
