LENT 2026

The season of Lent officially begins on Ash Wednesday (Wednesday, February 18) and culminates with Good Friday (Friday, April 3). At CHUMC, we are offering a variety of ways you can participate this year.

LENTEN PRAYER CHALLENGE

Daily prayer opportunities from Wednesday, February 18 to Saturday, April 4. Click the link below to download the challenge. Our atrium will be open every Monday (10:30 AM to 1:30 PM) during Lent for you to come and pray.

LENTEN STUDY

Our Lenten Study meets on Wednesdays at 10:15 AM.

The book we are reading and studying is An Unlikely Lent: Extraordinary People of the Easter Story by Rev. Rachel Billups.

We will cover new insights on the themes of:

- Devotion

- Opposition

- Freedom

- Courage

- Companionship

- Alliances

PALM SUNDAY

Palm Sunday this year falls on Sunday, March 29.

We will have palms for everyone to wave and be part of the procession into the Sanctuary that day. We are asking everyone to gather on the steps of the church.

Branches will be given outside the church.

We will process into the Sanctuary after a short litany.

MAUNDY THURSDAY

Our Maundy Thursday service will be in Hughes Hall on Thursday, April 2 at 7:00 PM.

We will have a service which includes hand washing, scripture, music, a message, and Communion.

GOOD FRIDAY

Our Good Friday service is Friday, April 3 at 7:00 PM.

Scripture readings, music, darkness, and reflection will be part of this evening’s service.

We will gather on the Chancel of the sanctuary (as space allows).
